Important Dive Blue Highlights
Do the Nomad & Mini Float?
Both the Nomad and the Nomad Mini float!
The Nomad and Nomad Mini floats due to it's foam shell, however for offshore diving, the included Dry Bag Float is strongly recommended to improve visibility of the diver, and aid with bouyancy.
For rougher waters a Floatation Tube can be purchased separately.
Can I use the Nomad system for boat maintenance and hull cleaning?
Absolutely! While a deeper hull (or larger boat) may be better suited for the Nomad given it's deeper range and longer operating time, the Nomad Mini is an excellent option too!
Can you use the Nomad & Mini in salt water?
Yes! Both the Nomad and Nomad Mini are fresh water and salt water friendly. If using in salt water, it is best practice to rinse with fresh water after each use to avoid buildup and corrosion.
What if it flips over?
As long as the top of the intake snorkel stays above water, Nomad and Nomad mini will keep delivering a steady flow of fresh air. The rest of the unit is fully submersible, and if water ever enters the pump, no worries—it won’t cause any damage. Just rinse it out with fresh water, and you’re good to go!
Is it airplane safe?
Absolutely! The lithium battery is well within most airline limits, making it safe and accepted for carry-on luggage. Whether you’re flying near or far, you can take Nomad along for the adventure. Pack the unit in its backpack as carry-on or check it with your luggage—just remember to carry the battery with you in the cabin. Dive-ready, wherever you go!
Does shallow diving allow longer run time?
Yes! Shallow water requires less air pressure to deliver a constant flow of oxygen to it's diver, so diving in shallow water will allow your battery to last longer.
How long does it take to re-charge my battery?
Both the Nomad Mini and Nomad battery can be charged fully in 3 hours.
How will I know when my battery is running low?
As the battery nears depletion, Nomad will signal you with subtle airflow changes—a slight sputtering or pulsating sensation during each breath. This sensation is noticeably different from the smooth airflow when the battery is fully charged and will occur more frequently as the battery runs down.
When you first notice this pulsating airflow, it’s your cue to begin a gradual ascent to the surface and safely conclude your dive. Always stay aware of this low-battery warning to ensure a controlled and smooth return to the surface before Nomad powers off.
